The CSI+ lounge was one of the hottest areas at Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Americas (CSI). Here, CSI+ members could relax in style on furnishings supplied by the CSI+ community. Styled as a modern take on a beach club, the design combined crisp whites and creams with playful forms, such as a cube footstool and twisted variations on the disco ball.
Visitors to the show also dropped by to attend a Meet the Brand led by members of the YSA Design team. The speakers were: Fabiana Dornelas, Senior Interior Architect & Head of Sustainability & Implementation, Anne Mari Gullikstad, Senior Interior, Architect, Partner, CEO, Jan Krefting, Chairman, Partner & Senior Architect and Einar Jungård, Partner. The team discussed the studio’s brand identity, their approach to supplier selection and their favourite spaces to design on a ship.

Urban Art Company
Urban Art Company are an all-encompassing art advisory firm. They produce exceptional and enlightening art programs through collaborations with renowned global brands and design firms.
Disco balls, including a mischievous ‘melted’ version of the classic form, and a disco dog added a touch of glamour to the CSI+ lounge. These glitzy finishing touches were provided by Urban Art Company.
Kenneth Cobonpue
Kenneth Cobonpue embodies an organic modern approach to indoor/outdoor furniture & lighting, blending old world hand working techniques with sustainable materials & outdoor fibers.
Visitors enjoyed the tactile Chiquita hybrid stool/end table from Kenneth Cobonpue. Here’s how the company describe these fun and versatile furnishings, ‘The idea of play is discovered in the ingenuity of its design. Each dowel is cut with precision, finely sanded, and bundled to fill every space. Held together in a cylindrical frame, this playful chair is fabricated from thick metal sheets-cut, shaped, and painted in vibrant colors.’
Cane-line
Cane-line is a Danish design company with 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing functional and comfortable furniture. Life made comfortable is the very essence of Cane-line. All over the world our mission is the same – to make life comfortable and add value to life and the places where you unwind and relax.
Eagle-eyed visitors will have spotted several Cane-line products dotted about the CSI+ Lounge. Cane-line supplied the Nest round chair, Cube footstool, Twist coffee table and Illusion lamp.
Marahrens
Marahrens provides shipowners, interior-architects and shipyards with a wide portfolio of signage from architectural/venue, wayfinding and cabin signage as well as safety-signs and LLL. With 70 years of experience, Marahrens is a one-stop solutions provider with facilities in Bremen, Miami and Turku.
Marahrens supplied the crowning glory of the CSI+ Lounge; a bespoke sign reading ‘Miami vibes’. The sign featured a mix of neutral tones and fruit-smoothie shades of pink, orange and terracotta, plus the YSA Design and CSI+ branding.
Humble Lights
Humble Lights creates wireless, rechargeable and dimmable mood lighting. The collection consists of several designer lamps (such as One, Two, Bee, Firefly and Bug), each with its own specific look. The lamps are characterized by their long life, quality and special design.
The lamps provided by Humble Lights were a favorite of many of the visitors to the Lounge. Humble Lights’ own Founder/Managing Director gave this quote on their experience with CSI, ‘We have participated at CSI since November 2022 – the UK edition. In 2023 we participated at CSI Miami & UK. We keep on going to participate in 2024 as we believe in the concept of CSI & YSA. And last but not least, the show is very well organised! We are looking forward to the CSI Miami 2024 edition.’
