In this CSI+ Meet the Member Interview, we will be joined by Dion Bosch, Business Development Manager at Forest Group-HQ.

What do you do at your company and in what circumstances would I come to you for something?
“My role is Business Development for the International Hospitality and Marine Industry, I will tell you all about curtain engineering and the several drapery hardware solutions Forest Group has to offer.”

What’s the biggest misconception people have about your position?
That I work hard!”

Has your company got any upcoming projects / events / exciting news that you can talk about?
“We are currently working on Silversea’s S720 Silver Rae through our curtain contractors”.

What has been your favourite project to work on?
The Disney Ships and Silver Sea vessels.”

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?
“Be humble, listen, and do what you promise.”

Could you share the most significant obstacle you have faced in your career so far, particularly in cruise work? Or, have you ever encountered any problems in cruise work that required you to learn a new skillset?
“It’s all about communication and understanding each other, logistics can be an obstacle.”

What inspired you to pursue this field of work? Or, what was your first taste of the cruise industry?
“About 6-7 years ago, in my previous role, I participated in the MHA Event (Marine Hotel Association) in Naples Florida.”

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I am a Ferrari enthusiast, more like a historian, most interested in the history of the brand and classic cars.”

What are the most significant changes you have seen in the Cruise Interior sector since you started, and what emerging trends do you foresee shaping its future?
“There will be more luxury on board, like motorised curtain tracks and blinds.”

Do you have a fun-fact or piece of advice about your company/industry that you can share?
“It’s all about mixing business and pleasure.”

Do you specialise in a particular type of product? What makes it different to competitors?
“Drapery hardware focuses on the finer details, in order to make sure the curtain/fabric comes out best in terms of design, shape and durability.”

If you could recommend only one of your products, what would it be?
“Our small profile FMS, the smallest and bendable track in combination with our Shuttle curtain motor.”

What kind of questions do you ask before beginning a project, and which piece of information is of utmost value in planning a successful project?
What kind of automation system will be installed and what is the timeframe we have for installation.”

What role does sustainability play in your company? How do you incorporate environmentally friendly practices and materials?
Packaging, reduction of plastics and selecting suppliers who care as well.”

What goals have you met so far in 2024? Or, what goals/milestones are you working to meet this year?
No goals or milestones, just work hard and do what we are good at.”
