Matt Easton is a very active member of the CSI+ community, and a real asset. How much do you know about Matthew Easton – Hotel Refurbishment Manager at Marella Cruises, part of TUI Cruises?

Matt, please can you tell me a bit about your role and the business?
I am the Hotel Refurbishment Manager at Marella Cruises. The role entails all aspects of hotel maintenance and refurbishment. It starts with the strategic planning of budgets and scheduled work based around our itineraries and docking schedules.

Working with an older fleet of vessels requires a lot of maintenance both in service and out and I work very closely with our Product Development team, designers, ships teams and external partners to ensure that our passengers enjoy consistently great holidays that they can depend on.

We have recently won awards for our designs and at every stage I am trying to bring in and introduce better sustainability and environmental impacts using modern technology and different approaches to reduce CO2 and ongoing maintenance costs.

What do you enjoy about being part of the CSI+ community?
It’s great place to both meet new people and companies and get introduced to new technology and products as they come to market. It provides an informal place for me to stay connected with current suppliers and manufacturers. It’s a useful forum to discuss the supply chain with other owners. It’s a place for us to share challenges we face and what we need to overcome them.

Can you share with us a fun fact or let us know what you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I am a keen table top wargamer and spend many hours of the day painting little soldiers to play with at the weekend

Thank you very much Matthew Easton!
