Thanks for joining us for another #CSIPlus Meet the Member Interview, for this one we are joined by Jana Kintrup, Project Manager at Schnick-Schnack-Systems GmbH.

What inspired you to pursue this field of work? Or, what was your first taste of the cruise industry?
“The first taste of the cruise industry for me was the Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo in London in 2026. I joined the show as a newbie and dived into this small and lovely branch. The wide range of different disciplines and equipment for cruise ships at the show impressed me much.”

Do you specialise in a particular type of product? What makes it different to competitors?
“Schnick-Schnack-Systems is specialized in high-quality LED modules for professionals. Our clients appreciate the brightness, color accuracy, and uniformity of our LEDs, as well as their reliability and versatility. We deliver the whole system from LED product to power supply. Including all necessary accessories. As last point I want to mention, that we design, develop and manufacture our products in Germany which results in outstanding flexibility, custom solutions and premium quality products.”

What kind of questions do you ask before beginning a project, and which piece of information is of utmost value in planning a successful project?
“I would start with short questions to get more information about the product. the questions are partly dependent on the project status. In the conception and design phases, these are more open than in specific refitting projects in which a replacement for an existing infrastructure is to be found. Here I listed a few of them:
1. What final look do you imagine for the area?
2. Is it a new or a refitting project?
3. What is the timeline for this project? After that we’re going to dive deeper into technical questions.
4. Do you have any specifications for the LED products?
5. Which control signal do you want to use?
6. Do you need accessories like profiles? We want to make sure, that we find the best lighting solution together with you for your project. We consider ourselves as one small part in a cruise ship project – therefore we are team players and work on projects with any involved party whether chandeliers, surfaces, reflectors, control systems, content creators, event technicians and many more. We just aim for the best lighting solution for your project.”
